I awoke this morning to the sound of heavy rain. The clouds and rain can seem very gloomy, especially on Mondays but I am reminded that I have the ability to control my attitude. Do I let the weather (outside circumstances) determine my day?
The Lord led me to Deuteronomy 32:1-4 to read. It says, “Skies, listen and I will speak. Earth, hear the words of my mouth. 2 My teachings will come like the rain, like a mist falling to the ground, like a gentle rain on the soft grass, like rain on the green plants. 3 Praise God as I speak the Lord’s name! 4 “The Lord is the Rock, and his work is perfect! Yes, all his ways are right! God is true and faithful. He is good and honest.”
Moses shared these words to the Israelites not long before he died. He had seen God's faithfulness throughout his life; encountering both mountaintop and valley experiences. There had been good times and hard times. He had experienced times of victory and times of rebellion. But through it all, God had always been faithful.
Now, as he comes to the end of his life, Moses was still completely committed to the Lord. He praises God for His perfect work, for His ways always being right, for being true, faithful, honest and good.
Let's stand with the Lord no matter what life throws at us. Let's praise Him when the sun shines and when the rain falls!
